I’m Albert. I run Bulwark Black LLC out of Chimacum, Washington, Navy submarine veteran, SDVOSB, one-person shop. Rural Tech and Support is the side of the work that helps households, small businesses, and rural operators with the kind of IT, security, and AI work the big firms either won’t take or overcharge for.
This blog isn’t a marketing channel or a technical training manual. It’s a place for real-life lessons, honest observations, and thoughts I want to work through.
Here’s what belongs here:
- Personal infrastructure. The systems I build and rely on at home and in my business. What broke, what I tried, what worked, and what I’d do differently.
- Real family and client work. Lessons from helping family and working with clients, with identifying details left out. Sometimes the useful part is the fix; sometimes it’s what the experience taught me.
- Honesty about the process. The mistakes, trade-offs, false starts, and things I’m still figuring out. If AI or another tool helped, I’ll explain how. If it didn’t, I’ll say that too.
- Thoughts and rabbit holes. Books, self-reliance, technology, everyday life, and questions that stay with me. Not every post needs to be a tutorial or end with a neat answer.
Some posts will be practical. Others will be personal reflections, lessons learned, or just something on my mind. The point is to write about real life, not squeeze every experience into a technical topic.
I’d rather publish one honest, useful post than five generic ones. If something here helps you solve a problem, avoid a mistake, or see something differently, that’s enough.
