Terms

The rules. Short version.

Last updated: May 20, 2026

By using this site or hiring me, you agree to what is written below. If something here is a problem for you, email me before we start work and we can sort it out in writing.

Who you are dealing with

The site and the services it advertises are operated by Bulwark Black LLC, a Washington limited liability company. Owner-operator: Albert LaScola. Registered in Spokane, WA. Registered office: 522 W Riverside Ave, Ste N, Spokane, WA 99201.

What the site is

A marketing and intake site for an independent IT, cybersecurity, and AI advisory practice. Articles, project notes, and recommendations are published in good faith but are general information, not personalized advice for your situation. Reading something here does not create a client relationship.

Booked calls and engagements

  • Advisory calls. A booked 1 hour call costs $199, charged at the time you book through Calendly + Stripe. Payment is non-refundable, with one exception: if I have to cancel and cannot reschedule within 30 days, you get a full refund.
  • Project engagements. Anything bigger than a single booked call gets its own written scope and quote before any work starts. The signed scope governs that engagement, and these Terms apply where the scope is silent.
  • Right to decline. I may decline to work with anyone for any lawful reason, including conflicts of interest, ethical concerns, or scope I am not the right fit for. If I decline, you get a full refund of anything already paid.

Reviews you submit

When you submit a review, you confirm that you actually worked with me, that the review is your own honest opinion, and that I may publish it on this site with the display name and metadata you provided. Your email is kept private. I read every review and publish them manually. I may decline to publish a review without notice.

Intellectual property

Content on this site (writing, code samples, illustrations) is © Bulwark Black LLC unless attributed otherwise. You may quote short excerpts with credit and a link back. For anything beyond that, ask.

Work delivered under a paid engagement is governed by the scope for that engagement, which will specify what gets transferred to you on payment and what I retain rights to (typically my own internal tooling and reusable patterns).

Acceptable use

Do not use the forms or the site to harass, defraud, scrape at scale, or attempt to break things. The reviews and contact forms have rate limits and bot protection. Repeat abuse gets your IP blocked.

No warranty, limited liability

The site and its content are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Bulwark Black LLC's total liability for anything related to this site (separate from a signed engagement) is limited to the amount you have paid me in the last 12 months, or $50, whichever is greater. Signed engagements carry their own liability terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Jefferson County, Washington.

Changes

I may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when. If changes materially affect an active engagement, I will email you directly.
